Selecting the Right Security Technology for Your Campus

September 12, 2024 @ 2PM ET
On24

There is an incredibly wide range of security, public safety, emergency management, and facilities management technology available on the market. So much, in fact, that determining what your campus really needs can be challenging. Whether your organization is considering new or upgraded video surveillance, two-way radios, access control, mass notification, HVAC, lighting, or something else, it’s important to have a good process in place so that you and your staff make smart technology investments.

That’s why Campus Safety has asked Georgia Institute of Technology Acting Chief of Police Robert Connolly and Captain Richard McNevin to tell us about the technology they’ve deployed on their campus. Connolly and McNevin’s team have spearheaded the installation and implementation of an impressive array of technologies, including the GTPD Emergency Communications and Operations Center, security cameras, social media monitoring, emergency notification, apps, access control, license plate recognition, blue light phones, a forensics lab, and more.

In this presentation, attendees will learn about:

  • The vetting process in selecting security technology for a campus
  • How to determine what’s leading edge v. bleeding edge
  • Using a consultant and/or systems integrator to help with the process
  • How to hire and utilize staff members specifically assigned to help with the vetting, installation, and maintenance of technology.
  • And more!
