Intermedix, a provider of technology-enabled services and software solutions, announces the release of eICS for Higher Education, a new incident management software.

The software is a web-based incident management system that provides emergency management teams at universities and colleges. It provides enhanced visibility into resource availability and the capabilities needed to manage notifications during incidents on campus, according to the company.

The software aims to connect higher education establishments with local communities and local and state government agencies to create transparency and provide effective responses across campuses.

eISC allows higher education institutions to document and oversee events based on their own needs and requirements. The software disseminates key details to local jurisdictions to help enhance situational awareness.

“In recent years it has become critical for the academic community to have reliable preparedness processes in place,” says Bob Watson, president of preparedness technology at Interlogix. “By incorporating incident-management technology into these programs, universities and colleges can maintain consistent situational awareness, interoperability, share up-to-date accurate information with necessary stakeholders and most importantly provide rapid response when it’s needed most.”

The software has its own notification system, Rave Alert, which sends out information to users during an emergency. Recipients can be categorized and notified by a specific type of event that would require their involvement. Recipient responses are also automatically tracked and reported by the system.

Users can document and track various incidents on campus or satellite campuses through an electronic event log, ranging from routine daily operations to criminal threats or lockdowns.

The electronic event log removes the need for paper documentation and cuts down on the time it takes to collate incident information.

eICS also includes reports and forms which are available on demand to aid and support after-action efforts and documentation needed to comply with the Clery Act.

The official product launch will be on October 31 at the 2017 EDUCAUSE Annual Conference.
