Indiana Governor Pence signed Senate Bill #147 into Law, Monday March 21st 2016.
Indiana is the first state in America to give the command and control to the Department of Homeland Security and other appointed officials to create the highest level of safety and protection from all life threat emergencies, so Indiana’s schools are the safest learning environments possible.
Senate Bill #147 requires the department of homeland security to establish minimum standards and approve best practices for school emergency response systems. SB 147 also requires the Department of Homeland Security to establish emergency response system guidelines.
