Verkada Debuts New Video Intercom System
With Verkada Intercom, customers can manage access and answer calls from anywhere, according to the company.
SAN MATEO, Calif. — Verkada, a cloud-based building security systems provider, launched a new product, Verkada Intercom, said to offer a reimagined building entry and communication experience for front desk staff.
With the new video intercom, customers can manage access and answer calls from anywhere with sharp video, clear audio, four smart receiver methods, and intuitive management and security tools in Verkada Command, the company says.
Each button press and intercom call is recorded on-device for easy retrieval and historical review up to 30 days and comes with the full suite of Verkada features, including people analytics, motion algorithms, and cloud archiving.
Verkada Intercom replaces fixed receiver stations, hard-wired installations, and static configurations with simplified hardware and cloud-based software.
Verkada also announced a range of additional updates, including:
- Next-generation bullet cameras, built for harsh conditions and distant scenes with improved image quality and analytics, and a simpler installation experience
- Verkada Helix, a new enterprise video search and integration engine that allows customers to provide context to their video security footage by indexing Verkada camera footage with data from third-party applications
- Improved license plate recognition (LPR) capabilities, now supporting up to three lanes of traffic at speeds up to 80 mph
- New horn speaker, allowing organizations to talk to intruders in real-time from a camera feed in Verkada’s Command dashboard or mobile app
- Enhanced command interface, simplifying platform navigation and offering customers more features for visibility and control
- New guest integrations, making it easier for front desk staff to streamline security screens with Checkr
- Live Viewers, providing more visibility into how Verkada is being used across organizations
