SAN DIEGO — Police arrested a woman on Wednesday in connection with the kidnapping of a 2-month-old girl. Talia Gone might have pretended to be an employee of the San Diego City College child care program, and convinced a 16-year-old mother to give Gone her infant daughter.
Initial police reports indicate that Gone and the mother met at a trolley station near the college, the Los Angeles Times reports. Gone suggested that the mother enroll her baby in the daycare program for teenage mothers at the college.
The two women allegedly went to the campus, where Gone took the baby while the mother was attempting to enroll her child in the program. Gone and the baby were discovered by police three hours later at a trolley stop south of downtown.
Gone was booked on kidnapping, child endangerment, and child abduction charges. The baby was unharmed and was returned to its mother.
