WKUPD Installs New CCTV Security System on Campus

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Western Kentucky University Police Department expects to have fully implemented its new CCTV security system on campus by the end of October.

While the university already has a closed-circuit security camera system, it is limited in its scope and is not monitored by the police department.

The university’s police department will also construct a new central communications station from which its officer may monitor all the cameras. The CCTV system will be able to save information recorded from its visual feeds in a storage recording system. The police department also hopes to receive extra funding from the state in order to fully man the camera security system.
