OLYMPIA, Wash. — All school districts in Washington must work with local law enforcement to develop an enhanced emergency response system, according to a measure signed by Gov. Jay Inslee on Tuesday.
The measure requires all districts to submit a progress report by Dec. 1, 2014. Additionally, districts must consider installing perimeter security and additional security features when building new schools, the Associated Press reports.
By this December, the School Safety Advisory Committee must submit a report on policies on emergency response for various scenarios.
