ARLINGTON, Va. — A man who was trying to visit a patient at Virginia Hospital Center was arrested Friday after a verbal altercation at the facility led to the suspect taking out a meat cleaver and using it in a threatening way.
Around 5:30 p.m. on April 12, Kareem Jorif, 34, began arguing with hospital staff, The Washington Post reports. As the dispute escalated, Jorif allegedly pulled a meat cleaver from his waistband and struck a hospital room door several times. He later threw the weapon at the people inside the room.
