UC Davis Chief to Lead City, University Fire Divisions
DAVIS, Calif. — The city council here approved to have the University of California, Davis fire chief lead the Davis Fire Department in an effort to save city funds.
The agreement, expected to save the city up to $250,000, builds on existing arrangements between the university and city fire departments. The departments have removed jurisdictional boundaries so either division’s fire crews can respond to calls based on which is closest to the incident, The Sacramento Bee reports.
