Texas Legislature: Students Can Keep Guns in Cars on College Campuses
AUSTIN, Texas — A bill approved by the Texas Legislature on Sunday allows students with proper licenses to keep guns in their vehicles on college campuses.
The measure’s approval didn’t come without some debate. Democrats required assurances that the bill would not be expanded to allow concealed carry on campus grounds, the Associated Press reports.
Under current law, Texas universities can post signs prohibiting guns; however, the approved measure overrides that ruling.
