Texas College Police Hold Student, Staff Training for Campus Shootings

SAN ANTONIO — The Alamo Colleges Police Department is holding a workshop to train students and staff on how to recent in the event of shooting on campus. The workshop is part of a program that started two years ago to prepare for such incidents.

The workshop covers locating exits and alerting other quickly, KSAT 12 reports. Also, the workshop instructs participants to take charge quickly in the event of a shooting.

Although a campus shooting is not very likely, the Alamo Colleges PD believe they should prepare for one. Joe Curiel, who works with the department, told the news source that a shooting could happen anywhere at any time.
