Terminal Cancer Patient Plunges to Death from Hospital Window

EVANSVILLE, Ind.

A terminally ill patient has died after allegedly jumping from a sixth-story hospital window on February 15. The 44-year-old woman was a terminal cancer patient at the St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville, Ind.

Officials are reviewing the facility and procedures to determine how the patient was able to get through the window. The woman fell 28 feet and landed on a roof, according to the Chicago Tribune. The woman died in the hospital’s intensive care unit soon after the fall.
