Tennessee High School Students Suspended in Alleged Prostitution

Shelby County School officials are saying the reports might not be entirely accurate.

Several students were suspended from Bolton High School in Tennessee after an alleged prostitution incident involving a 14-year-old freshman female student was reported last week to school officials. Shelby County School officials, though, are saying the reports may not be entirely accurate. Administrators are investigating “allegations of inappropriate behavior.”

A Bolton High student told WMC Action News that the female student passed along notes, saying she would be offering sex, usually during lunch hour in the boys’ bathroom. The student said he didn’t take her up on the offer, but there was a line of “10 people every day,” and that teachers didn’t know about it.

In September, a grand injury indicted a teacher-coach at the school for statutory rape.
