Tenn. University Lifts Lockdown Following Shooting

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University officials have lifted a lockdown following the arrest of a suspect who fired a gun during an altercation on campus. One person was shot during the incident.

The alleged gunman was in a heated argument with the victim when he drew a gun and fired, The Street reports. He then fled the scene and was later captured by members of a SWAT team who responded to the incident. The weapon was also located.

The Business and Aerospace Building remain closed, but classes and activities in other buildings resumed following the arrest.

The condition of the victim is unknown.
