Temple University is adjusting its daily crime reports so that they will now comply with Pennsylvania’s law mandating that logs include the names and addresses of people who have been arrested and charged with a crime.
Previously, the school was not reporting this information and was not in compliance with the 2004 state law, reports the Temple News. The school newspaper pointed out the discrepancy to university officials who then reviewed the matter and agreed to make the change.
Pennsylvania’s reporting requirements go beyond those of the Clery Act.
The issue raises concerns about the state’s oversight of the law.
