Teen Alerted Authorities to Classmates’ Bomb Plot

ROY, Utah — Two Roy High School students were arrested Jan. 25 for plotting to bomb the school and escape in a plane. The teens did not have explosives or a plane, but had blueprints of the school and security systems, as well as hours of flight simulator training on a home computer.

Dallin Morgan, 18, and an unnamed 16-year-old student were taken into custody at the school after a fellow student alerted authorities, the Associated Press reports. The student had received a text message from one of the suspects that read “If I tell you one day not to go to school, make damn sure you and … are not there,” according to court records.

Both teens were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit mass destruction.
