Teacher Shot Outside School During Lunch Break

MIAMI – During a robbery attempt, a teacher was shot outside of a high school on Nov. 6. A district official stated that the teacher is expected to survive.

The shooting was reported before noon at Miami Carol City Senior High School.

While taking a cigarette break across the street during lunch, the teacher was approached by the suspect who tried to rob him. The teacher was shot in the lower body; however, the hospital treating him did not release his condition.

Carol City elementary, middle and senior high schools were all on lockdown as police searched for the suspect.

No students were injured in this incident.
