Suspect Pleads Not Guilty in Napa State Hospital Murder

NAPA, Calif. — Jess Willard Massey pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to all charges leveled against him in the Napa County Superior Court. Massey allegedly strangled and killed psychiatric technician Donna Gross at Napa State Hospital in October.

Massey is charged with murder and robbery. He is accused of taking money and jewelry from Gross after killing her during a dinner break at the hospital, the Napa Valley Register reports.

On Friday, a town hall meeting will be held at Napa Valley College to discuss safety concerns for patients and employees at Napa State. The meeting will be led by State Assemblyman Michael Allen and State Sen. Noreen Evans.
