Following her and other students’ April 18 complaint against Swarthmore College alleging the school had violated the Clery Act, Mia Ferguson announced on Thursday that she is filing a second complaint against the campus, claiming it also violated Title IX.
Ferguson, who is a student at the college, held a press conference that was attended by students, alumni and other supporters, reports the Daily Gazette. Both complaints are in response to what she and other students say is Swarthmore’s lack of openness and willingness to cooperate. Ferguson claims she experienced frustrating obstacles when she tried to report her sexual assault.
