Student Faces Expulsion for Ranking Female Classmates on Facebook

CHICAGO, Ill. — Administrators at Oak Park and River Forest High School have taken disciplinary action against a male student who allegedly posted a list on Facebook ranking 50 of his female classmates. The list included ratings of the individual body parts of each student and a tally of their alleged sexual activity.

The student being held responsible was suspended this week, but could face further punishment. Police are investigating the incident to determine whether he will face criminal charges, the Chicago Tribune reports. Administrators told the news source that cyber bullying or misuse of technology by a student can result in expulsion.

Several students who appeared on the list told the news source that they were disappointed by their classmates’ response to the incident. The student responsible for the list was applauded after giving a short speech about the list during a class period.

School counselors have reached out to the students named in the list and their parents to offer support and guidance.
