STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — In his third quarterly report, Penn State Integrity Monitor Sen. George Mitchell commended the university on its progress to comply with Clery Act requirements, as well as its efforts to alert the campus community about child sexual abuse.

The report, released Friday, encompasses March, April and May 2013. During that time, the Penn State Board of Trustees met twice and mad several changes to its structure. Additionally, Mitchell praised Penn State for completing 76 of the 119 recommendations in the Freeh report in March. He also noted that plans for implementing the remainder of the recommendations are on track.

Furthermore, more than 16,000 faculty and staff have completed mandatory reporter training and more than 3,000 people have finished Clery Act training. Meanwhile, Penn State is also hiring 12 faculty members for the school’s Network on Child Protection and Well-Being.
