Select Security Awarded Contract Pennsylvania School District to Upgrade Security Systems

Lancaster, Pa. – The following is a press release from Select Security regarding the installation of security alarm systems in 22 schools throughout Pennsylvania.

The School District of Lancaster recently awarded a contract to Select Security to convert, upgrade and monitor fire and security alarm systems in 22 district facilities. Students in Ross, King, Carter & MacRae, Hamilton, Buchanan and Fulton Elementary Schools; Hand, Lincoln and Wheatland Middle Schools; McCaskey and McCaskey East High Schools; Buehrle Alternative School and the Phoenix Academy will return to classes in the fall with increased security and fire protection.

The contract was officially signed on May 27, 2008. The aforementioned schools required an equipment upgrade during conversion, and all projects were completed in July. In addition to the 13 schools listed, nine other buildings in the district will be monitored by Select Security’s CSAA 5-Diamond Certified, UL Listed and FM Approved Central Station in Lancaster, Pa.

Select Security is committed to providing protection to educational institutions throughout Central Pa, and recently won contracts with the Reading Area Community College and Daniel Boone School District in Birdsboro, Pa.

According to Greg Collins, Coordinator of Capital Projects for the school district, “Select Security’s location within the School District of Lancaster was an important factor [in choosing Select Security], but equally impressive was the professional quality of their personnel, the depth of their technical knowledge and the up-to-date equipment and operations of the monitoring center. I have appreciated Select Security’s desire to meet and exceed the needs of the District throughout the selection and implementation process of the project.”
