Security Officer Charged for Improper Relationship With Student

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. —A former security assistant for Renaissance Academy, an alternative school, has been charged with felony custodial indecent liberties with a child.

School administrators contacted police after learning about accusations that Patience Perez, 22, was having a consensual sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, reports. Police arrested Perez following an investigation that confirmed suspicions.

Renaissance Academy officials have fired Perez from her position. Additionally, investigators are seeking to identify other potential victims.
