Security Officer Charged for Improper Relationship With Student
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. —A former security assistant for Renaissance Academy, an alternative school, has been charged with felony custodial indecent liberties with a child.
School administrators contacted police after learning about accusations that Patience Perez, 22, was having a consensual sexual relationship with a 15-year-old student, WAVY.com reports. Police arrested Perez following an investigation that confirmed suspicions.
Renaissance Academy officials have fired Perez from her position. Additionally, investigators are seeking to identify other potential victims.
