GEORGETOWN, Ky. – A 19-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly making a bomb threat at the hospital where he worked as a security officer.
The incident happened July 6, 2023 at Georgetown Community Hospital, and Gabriel Frith was the on-duty security officer at the time. He was working for a private contract security company, reports The Messenger.
Authorities believe Frith texted in the bomb threat, reports LEX18. He’s been charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and could be charged for similar incidents that happened in Lexington.
Frith was identified as the suspect by local police in a Facebook post after authorities conducted searches of his online, phone, and bank records, reports News-Graphic. He confessed to making the bomb threat.
The past two years the country experience a rash of bomb threats. Schools in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and California received numerous hoax threats in October. In 2022, numerous threats were made against Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) as well as against transgender medical care providers.
