RFK’s Son Allegedly Fights with Nurses

Published: February 29, 2012

NEW YORK — A son of Robert F. Kennedy has been charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child after he struggled with nurses at Northern Westchester Hospital.

The nurses were trying to prevent Douglas Kennedy from taking his infant son out of the maternity ward on Jan. 7, The Washington Post reports. Kennedy claims one of the nurses tried to snatch the child from him; the nurse, Cari Maleman Luciano, said she was just trying to stop the “violent shaking” of the child.

The security video shows a woman falling to the floor. One nurse said Kennedy twisted her arm. Another said he kicked her in the pelvis.

Kennedy was arrested Feb. 23.
