Robbery Results in Shots Fired at U. of Houston

A suspect is being sought by authorities after he allegedly robbed an armored vehicle making a pickup Friday morning in front of the University Center on the University of Houston campus.

The incident began around 8 a.m. when the suspect approached the van while it was stopped and one of the guards was outside, reports the Los Angeles Times. He ordered the other guard to exit the vehicle and then climbed in the van and drove away.

One shot was fired by one of the two guards as the robber was leaving the scene, but no one was injured in the incident.

University Police are working with the FBI and the Houston Police Department in coordinating the investigation.
