Professor Arrested In Murder-For-Hire Plot

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A Tidewater Community College faculty member is suspected of trying to hire hit men to murder a fellow professor who said he had sexually harassed her.

The suspect, Jay Glosser, 53, is being held without bond and is accused of plotting with Raymond Groves, 38 and Devin Scott, 33, to kill Kimberly Perez. According to authorities, Glosser was afraid he would lose his job due to Perez’ sexual harassment allegations.

Police say Groves and Scott wanted Glosser to pay them as much as $15,000 for the murder and $4,000 to convince Perez to drop her complaint.

According to the Associated Press, after Scott started making threatening phone calls to Perez, she contacted the police who set up a sting operation. Scott was arrested after Perez dropped off money, which Scott thought she was paying to stop the threats.

Police then had Scott tape a conversation with Groves who then helped authorities tape a conversation with Glosser.

All three suspects say they are innocent.
