Principal Found Dead Of Apparent Suicide

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The principal of Northwest School of the Arts reportedly committed suicide the same day he was supposed to meet with administrators about a security breach involving a gun.

Barry Bowe was found dead on Jan. 23 in his home by administrators after he did not show up to a meeting, WCNC reports. The cause of death appears to be carbon monoxide poisoning.

The incident that was supposed to be discussed at the meeting took place Dec. 17. Someone brought a gun to a school dance, aimed it at student and pulled the trigger. However, the gun didn’t fire.
