Police: Student Was on Drugs, Jumped From Barn

LAS CRUCES, N.M. — New Mexico State University police now believe a student who was found dead in the street early Saturday morning most likely killed himself by jumping off a barn while high on drugs.

Initially, police thought Eric Robert Morris, 23, had been struck by a car and left in an intersection, the Las Cruces Sun-News reports. However, a set of footprints were later found on top of the bull barn nearby.

A preliminary autopsy of Morris found cocaine, angel dust and the active compound in marijuana.
