Police Search for Leads in Arkansas Student’s Shooting

JONESBORO, Ark.

Police are investigating an April 16 shooting at Arkansas State University, which resulted in the death of one student.

Michael Gilmore, 24, died 24 hours after he had been shot in the head in his Collegiate Park apartment, reports baxterbulletin.com. Currently, officers are investigating a motive and possible suspects.

Gilmore’s roommate contacted police after the incident. The victim’s roommate, a female and an infant were found at the scene; however, they are not considered suspects.

University Police issued messages from their alert systems warning students to be aware of their surroundings and briefly describing the incident. A second message told students it was safe to leave their rooms.
