IOWA — Police have banned more than 400 people from the University of Iowa, Iowa State University and the University of Northern Iowa in the past five years. The majority of those bans come from the University of Iowa.
The bans are mostly in response to threatening, lewd or criminal behavior, The Gazette reports. Most of the people restricted from these campuses are not associated with the universities, police officials said.
The bans range from short term restrictions — such as a month or semester — to “until further notice.” If an individual violates the restriction, he or she can be arrested.
