Police Arrest Woman for Impersonating Nurse at Ky. Hospital

ROCKCASTLE, Ky. — Officials at Rockcastle Regional Hospital plan to re-evaluate the facility’s security measures after police arrested a woman for impersonating a nurse at the medical center.

Hospital staff members said Samantha Key, 40, had come to the hospital numerous times, claiming to visit a family member who was being treated at the facility. At other times, she told hospital employees that she was a healthcare provider from another facility, WKYT.com reports.

On June 22, hospital workers spotted Key in a blue uniform and a homemade badge, presenting herself as a Rockcastle Regional nurse. The Kentucky Board of Nurses confirmed that Key never registered as a nurse in the state.

Rockcastle Regional officials maintain that Key never gained direct access to patients, nor did she perform any medical procedures.
