Police Arrest Suspect in Tenn. University Shooting

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Police arrested a 20-year-old student from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) in connection to a shooting that occurred on campus. Justin Macklin allegedly shot former MTSU student Austin Morrow in the hand during an argument on Monday.

The suspect was arrested that same day.

Macklin allegedly left the gun and two pounds of marijuana in a campus building, New York Daily News reports. Police told the news source that Macklin and Morrow had argued in the past.

After the shooting, the campus immediately went into lockdown and students received text messages from police about the incident. Once the weapon was located, classes resumed.
