MONTREAL — Police arrested 11 people on the campus of Universite de Montreal on Tuesday as protestors clashed with guards inside a classroom building over the resumption of classes.
Ten people were charged with assault and assault on a police officer, the Chicago Tribune reports. One protestor was released without charge.
A student strike over tuition fees disrupted the spring semester at the university. Student associations behind this week’s protests say their strike has not ended and that classes should not resume.
