4 Auburn Players Arrested, Expelled From Football Team

AUBURN, Ala. — Four football players from Auburn University were kicked off the team after being arrested. Each was charged with five counts of first-degree robbery, one count of first-degree and one count of third-degree theft. They allegedly entered a house three miles from campus with a handgun and stole property.

Mike McNeil, Antonio Goodwin, Shaun Kitchens and Dakota Mosley were taken into custody on March 4, ESPN reports. All four were being held in the Lee County Detention Center on $511,000 bail. 

Auburn coach Gene Chizik permanently dismissed the players from the team after the incident, stressing that playing on the team was a privilege, not a right.
