ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A physician with privileges to practice at Presbyterian Hospital took a gun from the hospital bathroom where an off-duty Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputy had accidentally left it.
The Albuquerque Police Department sent officers to the hospital to review surveillance video after the deputy confirmed that he had left his personal weapon in the restroom, KRQE.com reports. The video showed just one person entering the restroom after the gun was reported missing — Dr. Robert Gordon.
When police interviewed him, Gordon was hesitant to give back the weapon, according to sources. It is unclear whether a search warrant that was in the works was ever executed, but the hospital is sending the police report to medical staff to review Gordon’s privilege to practice there.
