Patient Attacks Security Officers, Nurses, Police Officer
MADISON, Wisc. – A patient who checked himself out of Meriter Hospital has been arrested for injuring six people.
Jason Bender, 33, allegedly attacked two hospital security officers, two nurses and a police officer with a 3-foot metal pole before being wrestled to the ground, reports the Wisconsin State Journal. None of the injuries were severe.
The suspect had checked himself out of the hospital against doctor’s orders. He then went to his car to drink alcohol and retrieve the pole before returning to the hospital where the incident occurred.
