Patient Assaults Hospital Personnel at S.C. Hospital

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. — Police arrested an East Cooper Medical Center patient Monday after he attacked the doctors and nurses who were trying to treat him.

Min Kyun Kim, 19, allegedly told hospital personnel that he was going to “blow up” before punching a doctor in the jaw, kicking a nurse in the leg and hitting a security officer on the side of her head. He also punched another officer in the face causing several injuries, ABC News 4 reports.

The suspect is charged with three counts of assault and battery in the third degree.
