TITUSVILLE, Fla. — Several parents are claiming that their children were forced to clean toilets as a punishment for not revealing the culprit who wrote graffiti on a Riverview Elementary School bathroom wall.
The graffiti-laced wall contained profanity and specific girls’ names, reports USA Today. Each of the 16 disciplined girls was given gloves and taken in one at a time to remove the graffiti. A teacher was the only one who handled the cleaning solution.
Yet, two parents said their daughters were told to clean the toilets as well. But a district official for the Brevard Public Schools said one of the girls wiped up cleaning solution from the toilet after saying she was comfortable with the task, while the other did so without being asked.
To combat the graffiti issue, the girls will now have to sign in and out for bathroom breaks.
