Oakland U: Coach Mentally Abused Players
ROCHESTER, Mich.—Oakland University officials are claiming they fired the school’s women’s basketball coach because she was mentally and emotionally abusing players, among other things.
Beckie Francis was fired from her job at the school back in June, but this is the first time Oakland University is saying why, reports USA Today. In addition to being abusive and intimidating players, the school claims the coach was obsessed with her players’ diets and body fat, as well as forced her religious beliefs on them.
Fancis has gone to court, requesting an unredacted copy of the school’s internal investigation report on the matter.
