A week after Anthony Iuso went to Montefiore Medical Center’s emergency department for treatment for an injured finger, he was discovered dead in one of the hospital’s locked bathrooms Oct. 5.
Iuso, 44, worked for the medical center, and his family is wondering why no one noticed for days that he was missing, reports NBC New York.
He was responsible for cleaning Montefiore Medical Center’s operations room on the third floor. After triage nurses saw Iuso, he used the bathroom on the third floor, which was the last time anyone saw him alive. He apparently was locked in the bathroom.
Several times his family attempted to contact him that evening and the next day. They also say they reached out to the medical center. They finally went to the hospital and demanded they look at the video from the facility’s security cameras. That is when they found Iuso’s body. He had no history of medical problems.
