Nurse, Security Guard Shot at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital

NEW YORK – A gang shooting inside a Bronx-Lebanon Hospital emergency department waiting room has injured two innocent bystanders.

The incident occurred Nov. 9 when members of two rival gangs that had been in an altercation earlier that day began fighting while some of them were waiting to receive treatment, reports NBCNewYork.com. The male victims, a 49-year-old security officer and 37-year-old nurse, did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

The gunman and the individuals involved in the altercation fled the scene before police could apprehend them. The suspect gunman, 19-year-old Michael Wayman, was arrested the following day, reports CBS New York. He has been charged with assault and weapons possession.
