Nurse, Security Guard Shot at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital

NEW YORK – A gang shooting inside a Bronx-Lebanon Hospital emergency department waiting room has injured two innocent bystanders.

The incident occurred Nov. 9 when members of two rival gangs that had been in an altercation earlier that day began fighting while some of them were waiting to receive treatment, reports The male victims, a 49-year-old security officer and 37-year-old nurse, did not sustain life-threatening injuries.

The gunman and the individuals involved in the altercation fled the scene before police could apprehend them. The suspect gunman, 19-year-old Michael Wayman, was arrested the following day, reports CBS New York. He has been charged with assault and weapons possession.
