Nurse’s Drug Theft Leads to Lawsuit
St. Cloud Hospital and one of its former nurses are being sued by four former patients for negligence. The nurse admitted to siphoning pain medication from their IV bags.
Former nurse Blake Zenner diverted the drugs in late 2010 and early 2011, and he was suspended in March of 2011, reports the SCTimes.com. Zenner pleaded guilty to obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
The plaintiffs claim the diversion caused them to develop bloodstream infections that caused high fevers.
