BUFFALO, N.Y. – Neighbors of Erie County Medical Center trauma surgeon Timothy Jorden Jr. are saying they saw a shift in his personality prior to the shooting death of his former girlfriend on Wednesday.

CBS is reporting that people who live near Jorden’s home noticed the following changes in his behavior prior to the incident:

  • He had recently lost a lot of weight
  • The landscaping of his home had deteriorated
  • He became less friendly

Authorities now believe he lured his former girlfriend, nursing student Jackie Wisniewski, into a hospital stairwell and shot her several times.

Jorden is a well-known and highly-regarded trauma surgeon at the hospital who was formerly an Army Special Forces weapons expert and medic. He remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. A nationwide manhunt is currently underway.
