New York Student Arrested for School Shooting Threat
Peter Breault allegedly gave a threatening note to one of his teachers at SUNY Adirondack College.
A college student was arrested Oct. 26 after police say he made threats to commit a school shooting at an elementary school.
New York State Police say Peter Breault, 20, “threatened to commit mass murder of schoolchildren in the town of Queensbury” when he gave a teacher a note Monday morning, according to timesunion.com. The teacher gave the note to the SUNY Adirondack Public Safety Department, which assisted the State Police in the investigation.
Breault was charged with a felony count of making a terroristic threat and sent to a Warren County jail. Breault was a dean’s list student at SUNY Adirondack College but reportedly quit school at the end of last week. The college has banned Breault from campus.
The Queensbury school district said in a public statement that there was no indication Queensbury Elementary School was targeted but said staff members are trained to prevent and respond to safety concerns and reminded everyone to stay vigilant.
Police do not believe Breault had access to any guns.
