ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Three assaults on women were reported in a four-day period near the University of Michigan’s Central Campus in Ann Arbor. University police have since issued a crime alert to the campus community.
A woman reported on July 18 that she was raped on one of the main streets near the campus, AnnArbor.com reports. Ann Arbor Police Lt. Renee Bush said dispatchers received a call soon after the alleged attack and officers arrived within 90 seconds. The woman was transported to the University of Michigan Hospital.
In addition to two other assaults on women in the downtown area, a university student was attacked on Sunday after five men jumped out of a sedan and approached him. The student was knocked unconscious by one of the attackers.
