In the past 16 years, the percentage of sexual harassment charges filed by men with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) increased from 8 percent to 16 percent.
According to Newsweek, although there are instances when women sexually harass men, most of the increase is due to male-on-male incidents. This type of harassment can include lewd comments, taunts about genitalia and suggestive simulations. It is intended to embarrass the targets and is about control and abuse of power. The harassment is normally not an attempt to flirt or sexually stimulate the targets.
