Mich. Schools Plan Security Upgrades
ROCHESTER, Mich. — Rochester Community Schools (RCS) will spend $179,000 for security upgrades throughout the district.
As part of the upgrades, RCS will install video surveillance intercom systems on the main entries, as well as card-reader systems throughout the district’s 19 buildings, Oakland Township-Lake Orion Patch reports.
The intercom system will cost roughly $27,080 and the card readers will cost $135,777. In addition to approving the security upgrade funding, the Board of Education granted an additional $16,285 in contingency funding to allow for flexibility during the installation process.
The district hopes to complete installation before students return from spring break in April.
