VICTORIA, Texas — A man was arrested after he fired a gun in the college sports and fitness center at Victoria College on Sept. 21.
Marcus Washington, 40, began an argument with a college basketball player while in the center and began using vulgar terms, the Victoria Advocate reports. He then pulled out a gun.
Marc Rodriguez, a college basketball player, pushed his teammate — who was engaged in the altercation with Washington — to the ground to get him out of the way of the gun. Washington then fired toward the ceiling on the far side of the room.
Washington left the center, but was apprehended by law enforcement about 10 to 15 minutes later.
